Hurone AI will begin managing the care of 1,000 cancer patients at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching & Referral Hospital (JOOTRH) in Kisumu, Kenya.
Kingsley I. Ndoh, Hurone AI’s founder and CEO, met with Professor Anyang’ Nyong’o, the Governor of Kisumu, to solidify the investment agreement.
“The Hurone AI team and I are excited to collaborate with the government, healthcare workers and all stakeholders in Kisumu to make precision cancer care accessible to patients in the state, and eventually the whole of Kenya,” Ndoh said after the meeting which was held in February 2024.
“I’m thrilled at the progress that we’re making and happy to see our vision unfolding one country at a time. As we gain steam with more investments, we will surely achieve our goal of making cancer care accessible to everyone, everywhere.” He concluded.
The government of Kisumu is known for its commitment to innovation as seen from its partnership with San Francisco-based drone delivery company, Zipline. This partnership with Hurone AI is a significant step towards the achievement of the county’s universal health coverage goals.
