About UsHurone AI is an early-stage startup based in Seattle, Washington, building AI-powered applications to bridge the gap of cancer care and outcomes through personalized cancer prevention, patient management and navigation, and tele-oncology in underserved regions.
There are wide disparities in cancer outcomes between high income countries and low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). About 70% of cancer deaths occur in LMICs, with sub-Saharan Africa bearing the greatest mortality burden.
Hurone AI through our flagship app uses big data analytics and machine learning to personalize prevention and early detection for cancer, and to support cancer patients—starting with breast cancer and Burkitt’s lymphoma—to manage their care, increase access to oncologists, and navigate complex healthcare systems for more effective treatment and improved cancer outcomes.
The acceleration of AI in medicine in high income countries is likely to widen the disparities we have today in cancer in sub-Saharan Africa and other low-and middle-income countries. We have decided not to wait for this to happen before acting. After many years of working in the global cancer space—specifically in sub-Saharan Africa—it is time to leverage resource-appropriate and culturally sensitive innovative solutions to cancer control in sub-Saharan Africa.
Our MVP is focused on breast and Burkitt’s lymphoma
Breast cancer – Supports prevention and early diagnosis, treatment compliance, side effect monitoring, tele-oncology, healthcare system navigation and survivorship
Burkitt’s lymphoma – Supports early diagnosis, tele-oncology, healthcare system navigation and treatment compliance
We are excited to announce the launching our flagship app for beta testing in Rwanda in the first Quarter of 2022.
Our founding team is made up of entrepreneurs, global health and oncology experts, AI, VR and data science experts with many decades of experience and a wide network of critical stakeholders at patient care levels and at the highest levels of governments in sub-Saharan Africa and the global cancer world.
